Spectral properties of IR-filamentation in air induced by 1 ps pulses for coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering

Abstract: We investigate the spectral properties of ps laser-induced filamentation in air using an ultrafast thin-disk based amplifier at a central wavelength of 1030 nm with a maximum pulse energy of 60 mJ at a repetition rate of 1 kHz. We show that the spectrum induced by filamentation in air is sufficiently broad to excite ro-vibrational Raman transitions in N2, O2 and CH4.
