Spectrophotometric and pH-metric studies on Pb(II), Cd(II), Al(III) and Cu(II) complexes of paracetamol and ascorbic acid

Abstract: Spectrophotometric and pH-metric studies of the aqueous binary and mixed ligand complexes of Pb(II), Cd(II), Al(III) and Cu(II) were carried out with ascorbic acid and paracetamol. The study was conducted at an ionic strength of 0.15 mol dm -3 and a temperature of 37.0 ± 0.2 o C. The protonation constants of the free ligands and the stability constants of the binary and mixed ligand complexes were determined using pH titration data. Proton dissociation of free ligands and complex formation were also qualitativ… Show more

“…In this work, this effect could be associated with the formation of insoluble chelates such as Mg/Ca-CIP o [ 19 ] ( Figure S3 ) that could precipitate in the cracks and pores of the PEO coating blocking the access of the corrosive species of the medium. The complexation of these compounds is predicted to be thermodynamically favourable at neutral pH as it was reported in works of pharmacokinetics of the fluoroquinolone group to which CIP belongs [ 12 , 32 ].…”

“…In addition, VC can also reduce some highvalence metal ions to reduce the interference in the determination. 29 Besides, VC is an organic acid, which is benecial to the reaction of KI and ions. Therefore, different concentrations of VC solution were added.…”

“…Thus, the present paper deals with the determination of the formation constants and the binding ratio of the binary and ternary complexes formed by Co(II) and Cu(II) with L-Val and Para using the conductometric and the spectrophotometric methods at (40 ± 0.1 °C) temperature. The method of conductometric (20, 21) as adopted by the direct conductivity method has been employed to determine K values, while the spectrophotometric using the continuous variation method has been employed to determine K values and binding ratio for the binary ligands-metal complexes (21)(22)(23).…”
