Spectroscopic Characterization, Thermogravimetry and Biological Studies of Ru(III), Pt(IV), Au(III) Complexes with Sulfamethoxazole Drug Ligand

Abstract: Complexes of Ru(III), Pt(IV), and Au(III) with sulfamethoxazole (SMX) were experimentally produced. The resulted formations of novel metal complexes were discussed using several techniques, such as effective magnetic moment molar conductivity, IR, UV, and 1H NMR spectra, elemental analyses, thermal analysis, microscopic and XRD analyses. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the solid powders of the synthesized sulfamethoxazole complexes indicated their identical formulation. The surface uniformity of the complexe… Show more

“…These may arise from the oxidation–reduction process of Co ions within the MOF centers, leading to the oxidation of sulfur in half of the MOF structural molecule. 52 The Zn-MOF and Co-MOF demonstrate significant M–O stretching bands, resulting from the asymmetric and symmetric vibrations of water molecules bonded to the metal ions. These vibrations cause slight frequency shifts owing to conjugation with the carbon–nitrogen bond.…”

“…[PtL] Electronic spectrum of the prepared behavior dark yellow Pt (IV) complex Fig. 4 showed four bands at 98135,2777,32879 and 45248 cm -1 which are assigned to the transitions 1 A1g →, 3 T1g, 1 A1g → 1 T1g, 1 A1g → 1 T2g and (L) → Pt (C.T) respectively 19 . The magnetic moment of the present complex is (0.0 B.M) of the present pit(IV) complex (d 6 ) configuration agrees with the octahedral configuration, this result indicates a diamagnetic.…”
