Speed sensorless Field Oriented Control for saturated induction motor using extended Kalman filter

Abstract: the induction motor is not a simple system, because many complicated phenomena are presents in its operation, such as saturation, iron losses etc…. In this paper, the influence of the magnetic saturation is taken into account in the motor modelling. Then, the Field Oriented Control (FOC) is applied to fed the motor. The last part of this paper treats the operating system without mechanical sensor, using an Extended Kalman filter as a speed observer. Simulation results are presented for each case study.
