Spin transport in epitaxial magnetic manganite/ruthenate heterostructures with an LaMnO3 layer

Abstract: Epitaxial La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 /LaMnO 3 /SrRuO 3 (LSMO/LMO/SRO) heterostructures with an LMO layer 0-35 nm thick are grown by laser ablation on an NdGaO 3 substrate at a high temperature. X ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy demonstrate sharp interfaces and epitaxial growth of the LSMO and SRO layers in the heterostructures at an LMO layer thickness of 0-35 nm. SQUID measurements of the magnetic moment of the heterostructures with an LMO layer and the data obtained with reflectometry of polari… Show more

“…The epitaxial magnetic films (LMO, LSMO and SRO) were prepared by laser ablation at temperatures of 700-800 ºC in an oxygen atmosphere on the substrate (110) NdGaO 3 (NGO). Epitaxial growth of the heterostructures is confirmed by X-ray diffraction patterns and transmission electron microscope pictures [5]. Magnetic properties of heterostructures were measured by SQUID magnetometer Quantum Design MPMS SQUID VSM in the temperature range 4-300 K. The temperature dependences of the in-plane magnetic moment of the heterostructure M(T) were measured by heating of the sample after pre-cooling in the magnetic field (Fig.…”
