Spinning strings at one-loop in AdS4× ℙ3

Abstract: Abstract:We analyze the folded spinning string in AdS 4 × P 3 with spin S in AdS 4 and angular momentum J in P 3 . We calculate the one-loop correction to its energy in the scaling limit of both ln S and J large with their ratio kept fixed. This result should correspond to the first subleading strong coupling correction to the anomalous dimension of operators of the type T r(D S (Y † Y ) J ) in the dual N = 6 Chern-Simons-matter theory. Our result appears to depart from the predictions for the generalized scal… Show more

“…We note that there already exists evidence that the quantum corrections of the two theories are closely connected. 9 Indeed it was conjectured in [40], and tested for in [41,42,43,44], that the anomalous dimensions of twist operators of ABJM theory can be obtained from N = 4 super Yang-Mills, up to normalization factors which can be easily determined, simply by substituting,…”

“…In the limiting φ = 0 and φ = π/2 cases, where there are no cubic terms, we see that the two-point functions are manifestly finite. Before ending this section, we should note that in order to determine the finite part of the spectrum, dimensional regularization is not a suitable regulator for the loop integrals [51], see also [52][53][54][55][56][57][58]. The reason is that in order to maintain unitarity, one should choose a cutoff such that the decay processes, originating from the cubic Lagrangian, are energetically allowed [44] (see also [59]).…”

“…5 We comment in particular on the differences between standard orbifold constructions for D-branes [30] and the action of the orbifold in the ABJM theory, which has the effect to change the level of the Chern-Simons coupling. 6 We study the offdiagonal modes connecting parallel M2-branes and show that they can be interpreted as extended objects whose tension goes like ℓ −3 P , so they behave like a two-dimensional object 4 Semiclassical strings and one-loop corrections to their energies were discussed in [24] and [25,26]. 5 Some work addressing the relation between M2-and D2-branes in this context can be found in [27,28,29].…”
