“…The result of our study regarding spiritual care needs is higher than the spiritual care needs of acute care patients (Wu et al, 2016); however, a clear and direct comparison is obscured by different measurement techniques and sample groups. In the present study, most of the participants had ostomy due to colorectal cancer, and in parallel to the study results, qualitative (Hsiao et al, 2011; Nixon & Narayanasamy, 2010; Selman et al, 2018) and quantitative (Dedeli et al, 2015; Pearce et al, 2012; Riklikienė et al, 2020) studies indicated that patients with cancer possessed spiritual care needs. Besides, it is possible that patients with ostomy have unmatched spiritual care needs in comparison with other patients with cancer as they not only face the risk of their life but also loss of control bowel elimination.…”
