Abstract:The covalent modification of glassy carbon electrode with ferrocenyl moieties was performed in acetonitrile using a mixture of ferrocenecarboxylate (FcCOO−) and ferrocenecarboxylic acid (FcCOOH). This process is activated by 1,4‐benzoquinone (Q), which plays the role of oxidant. The carboxylate induces the redox reduction of the quinone whereas an excess of the carboxylic acid drives the protonation of the reduced quinone to yield hydroquinone (QH2) as a reaction product. Due to the homogeneous oxidation of th… Show more
The host–guest complexation behaviors between perethylated pillar[n]arenes and quinonoid compounds are investigated in both solution and solid state. The resulting host–guest cocrystals demonstrate remarkable near-infrared photothermal conversion properties.

The iron-based Fenton chemistry has been used as the radical initiator in reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization. However, its practical application in polymeric materials science has been restricted due to...
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
