Spreading of Liquids on Dry and Pre-Wet Solid Surfaces

Abstract: A unified mathematical model for the spreading of liquids over dry and mi croscopically pre-wet solid surfaces is developed. For both cases the model eliminates the shear-stress singularity inherent in the classical solution of the moving contact-line problem and adequately describes available experimental data.
