Stability Analysis of High Speed Railway Vehicles

Abstract: The lateral mathematical model of a high speed vehicle system with 17 degrees of freedom is set up and the nonlinearities arising duo to suspension parameters and wheel/rail interactions are considered. The coupler traction force in tension and compression cases which is the function of vehicle speed and position in the trainset is also taken into account in the model. The critical speed at the Hopf bifurcation point on straight and circular curved tracks are studied by utilizing efficient numerical methods. T… Show more

“…The studies involve the influence of suspension parameters, rail radius and inclination, and wheel-rail profile and mean rolling radius on the hunting stability. Zeng and Wu [27] study the critical speed at the Hopf bifurcation point on a circular curved track. The influences of track curve radius and super elevation on nonlinear critical speed are investigated.…”

“…Zboinski and Dusza [27][28][29][30] obtained the bifurcation diagrams, and conducted a lot of studies on the nonlinear stability of railway vehicle running on a curved track. Zeng and Wu [31] studied the critical speed at the hopf bifurcation point on circular curved track. The influences of track curve radius and super elevation on nonlinear critical speed were investigated.…”
