It is known that power electronic circuits such as DC-DC converters are rich in non-linear phenomena. It is often necessary to determine when the system becomes unstable. The authors investigate a continuous-time averaging model for a modulated-hysteresis current controller. This model is applied to a boost converter working in continuous conduction mode to estimate the bifurcation point and to study the stability of the controlled system. This controller ensures a fixedswitching frequency, a zero static error and high robustness properties of the system parameter variations. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the proposed approach.
