Stable copper‐based 2D perovskite (NH3C3H6NH3)CuBr4 thin film processed from green solvent for thermoelectric application

Abstract: Great achievements about lead‐based halide perovskites have been made in the fields of photovoltaic solar cells, light emitting diodes, photodetectors, and thermoelectric devices. However, the toxicity and instability of lead‐based materials hinder their practical application. Herein, we used propane‐1,3‐diammonium cation to construct a copper‐based halide perovskite material (NH3C3H6NH3)CuBr4 with a two‐dimensional layered structure. This material exhibits a suitable bandgap of 1.71 eV for a broad‐band absorp… Show more

“…Organic-inorganic metal halides (OIMHs) are a new and exciting field of study with potential applications in energy and next-generation electronics. OIMHs have become one of the most extensively studied materials for photodetectors, [15] electrocaloric, [16] energy storage, and device applications such as solar cell applications, [17] and light-emitting diode applications. [18][19][20][21] The researchers show great interest in OIMHs due to their low production cost, ease of processing, and biocompatibility.…”

“…9 Lead-halide perovskites have been intensely investigated, but their toxicity limits their practical applications. 10,11 Lead-free perovskites with tailored photophysics are appealing. 12 Copper-based perovskites are promising candidates because of their merits (e.g., low cost, high optical absorption coefficients, 13 and environment friendliness).…”

“…12 The properties of hybrid 2D perovskites with various organic cations were studied earlier. [13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21] Perovskite crystal and electronic structures are closely related. According to earlier reports, in some hybrid perovskites bandgaps decrease as the angles Pb-X-Pb between neighboring PbX 6 octahedra increase.…”
