“…Another manner of brine shrimp cyst production is the cultivation in inland saltworks or hypersaline ponds (e.g., China, Kenya and Vietnam), which facilitates a better biological and environmental controls to achieve sustainable cyst production (Baert et al, 1997;Van Stappen et al, 2020). Owning the significant role of Artemia in the industry, two UN-recognized Artemia Reference Centres has been established at Ghent University, Belgium and Tianjin University of Science and Technology, China, where scientists are working on the pioneer aspects of genomic sequencing, genetic and microbial regulations, nutrition and exploitation of new cyst resources (Sorgeloos, 1980;FAO, 2017;Sorgeloos and Roubach, 2021;Duan et al, 2022).
