Stage Adjusted International Prognostic Index (St-IPI) Is a Simple and Better Prognostic Model in Limited Stage Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL): A Nationwide Multi-Institutional Registry in Thailand

Abstract: Introduction In pre-rituximab era, the IPI has been developed and widely used to predict the prognosis of aggressive lymphoma while Miller's stage modified IPI1 was reported as a better prognostic model for limited stage DLBCL. Recently, NCCN-IPI2 was stated to be a better predictor of prognosis for DLBCL in rituximab era. We aim to compare the prognostic significance between IPI, Miller's stage modified IPI, NCCN-IPI and the new proposed stage adjusted IPI (St-IPI) in limited stage DLBCL patien… Show more

“…Despite the generally favourable outcome, relapses still occur in 10 to 20% of patients with limited stage DLBCL and 5‐year OS ranges between 75% and 94%, which suggests that salvage of relapses is frequently unsuccessful . Clinical prognostic models only partially identify patients at risk for relapse . Biological tumour characteristics such as cell of origin and especially presence of MYC translocation have prognostic significance in DLBCL …”

“…[6][7][8][9][10] Clinical prognostic models only partially identify patients at risk for relapse. 2,11 Biological tumour characteristics such as cell of origin and especially presence of MYC translocation have prognostic significance in DLBCL. 12,13 We decided to analyse in an observational cohort study the relapses of patients with stage I(E) DLBCL focusing on (1) IPI were used to stratify patients.…”
