Abstract:Most patients trust their physicians to provide high-quality, evidence-based health information. 1 Unfortunately, misinformation and disinformation are problems as old as medicine and have been recognized as a public health threat for millenia. 2 Today, the rise of social media and artificial intelligence, together with a world-wide pandemic, have combined to create an unprecedented "infodemic" of false and misleading health information.
