Abstract:Plasmonic nanocavities are receving increased attention from the nanophotonics, nanoelectronics, and quantum optics community due to their ability to confine light in extremely small volumes. Coupling colloidal plasmonic nanocrystals to metal films is an inexpensive approach to fabricate virtually unlimited individual resonators that can be tuned by adjusting nanoparticle size, gap thickness, and refractive index. The focus is on silver nanocubes separated from a gold mirror by thin amorphous dielectric layers… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
