Statistical Energy Analysis Model for Sound Pressure Level Prediction on Refrigerators

Abstract: A Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) model of a 510 liter capacity refrigerator is used to calculate the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) generated in a reverberation room. This is a reliable indicator of the vibroacoustic performance of the refrigerator and it is in some countries as a pre-commercialization test. The main contributions of the SEA model are, the characterization of the refrigerator structure (three-layer: HIPS, polyurethane foam and steel), and the modeling of important components such as internal ch… Show more

“…Based on the fact that the SPL is a dependable index of noise characteristic of the refrigerator and it is used as a pre-commercialization test in some countries, Zarate et al. [331] considered a SEA model of a capacity refrigerator to determine the SPL produced in a reverberation room. Compared to the experimental setup, the simulation results presented reliable outcomes.…”

“…And the research usually focuses on the energy efficiency of the compressor and the service life of the check valve. [17][18][19] Few research studies are carried out to study the influence of valve plates on the acoustics performance of compressor, especially for variable speed scroll compressor.…”
