Statistical modeling of corneal OCT speckle. A distributional model-free approach
Marcela Niemczyk,
D. Robert Iskander
Abstract:In biomedical optics, it is often of interest to statistically model the amplitude of the speckle using some distributional models with their parameters acting as biomarkers. In this paper, a paradigm shift is being advocated in which a distributional model-free approach is used. Specifically, a range of distances, evaluated in different domains, between an empirical nonparametric distribution of the normalized speckle amplitude sample and the benchmark Rayleigh distribution, is considered. Using OCT images fr… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
