Statistical physics of flux-carrying Brownian particles
Antonio A. Valido
Abstract:Chern-Simons gauge field theory has provided a natural framework to gain deep insight about many novel phenomena in two-dimensional condensed matter. We investigate the nonequilibrium thermodynamics properties of a (two-dimensional) dissipative harmonic particle when the Abelian topological gauge action and the (linear) Brownian motion dynamics are treated on an equal footing. We find out that the particle exhibits remarkable magneticlike features in the quantum domain that are beyond the celebrated Landau dia… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
