Statistical-Theory Analysis of theMg24(n, p)Na24

Abstract: Previously reported measurements of the average cross sections for the Mg 24 (w,^)Na 24 and Al 27 (w,a)Na 24 reactions are compared with a detailed statistical-theory calculation in which information on the spin and parity of possible final states is included. The calculations employ nuclear transmission functions evaluated from an optical model of the nucleus.
