Status evaluation of provinces affected by COVID-19: A qualitative assessment using fuzzy system

Abstract: The outbreak of COVID-19 had already shown its harmful impact on mankind, especially on health sectors, global economy, education systems, cultures, politics, and other important fields. Like most of the affected countries in the globe, India is now facing serious crisis due to COVID-19 in the recent times. The evaluation of the present status of the provinces affected by COVID-19 is very much essential to the government authorities to impose preventive strategies in controlling the spread of COVID-19 and to t… Show more

“…MFIS, as a systematic formulation of pre-defined "if-then" rules, was introduced by Mamdani and Assilian in [31] to interpret human perceptions and has been successfully applied in various application problems. In particular, recently, Ghosh and Biswas [32] used a generated MFIS to successfully quantify all Indian states and autonomous regions in preventing the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Inspired by these, in this section, we show a method on the basis of MFIS to calculate the URI of the top 50 important node cities for population migration in China during 2020 under the influence of COVID-19.…”

“…Consequently, the governments attempted to curb the spread of the virus and bring back a state of normalcy through actions and initiatives such as social distancing guidelines, mask mandates in public places, temporary lockdowns of regions with a high rate of infection, promoting companies to enable remote working, and mass vaccination programs ( [5] , [6] ).…”

“…In April 2021, [8]Shatnawi etal, proposed a Fuzzy inference system for the primary diagnosis of COVID-19 based on the symptoms that appear on the patient to support the physicians in identifying the disease and help individuals to perform self-diagnosis on their own cases. [9]Bappaditya Ghosh and Animesh Biswas in June 2021, developed a computational methodology to estimate the status of states and provinces which are affected due to COVID-19 using a fuzzy inference system, considering the factors such as population density, number of COVID-19 tests, confirmed cases of COVID-19, recovery rate, and mortality rate as the input parameters, the rule base is developed using triangular fuzzy numbers to capture uncertainties associated with the mode. [10]Sayani, Soovoojeet and Kar, in Nov 2021, investigated regarding the vulnerability of COVID-19 for a person using fuzzy inference system (FIS) based on their travelling history using Mamdani type Fuzzy Inference System.…”
