Developments in the technological field also affect the behavior of individuals to obtain health information. In this study, it is aimed to examine the effect of health information acquisition and confirmation behaviors on healthcare communication problems in the digital media. In this study, the data were collected by Google form and face-to-face survey method. The population of the study consists of a total of 1,525 students in the Faculty of Health Sciences (Health Management), Faculty of Communication (Radio, Television and Cinema) and Faculty of Technology (Computer Engineering) departments of a university. The research was carried out with 334 students by calculating the necessary population and sample. The data were analyzed with SPSS package program. According to the analysis, it was determined that 69.8% of the students used Instagram, one of the social media platforms, 37.1 % applied to health institutions 3-5 times a year on average of 4-7 hours a day on the internet. In addition, a significant difference was obtained between health communication problems and age. A significant difference was found between the behavior of obtaining and confirming health information in the digital media and the social media platform used. Significant differences were found between communication problems and faculties. According to the results of the research, a significant positive relation was found between obtaining and confirming health information on digital media and health communication problems. In addition, it was concluded that the behavior of obtaining and confirming health information on digital media of the participants predicted health communication problems positively.
