“…Prevention efforts should highlight that vaping cannabis can cause lung injuries and correct misperceptions that vaping is safer than smoking to increase young people’s awareness of potential risks related to cannabis vaping. Given that early intervention can prevent escalation of cannabis vaping and long-term addiction ( Budney et al, 2015 ) and that prevention and cessation programs are associated with reduced intent or actual use of e-cigarettes (e.g., Gaiha & Halpern-Felsher, 2021 ), programs to prevent cannabis vaping should be developed and offered to young people.
