“…Despite the fact that the engineers today have a lot of knowledge and are able to design a correctly operating sliding bearing, every year failures or premature wear of the sliding couples are reported. Common causes of failure are: errors in assembly resulting stress concentration caused mostly by the misalignment of the bushing and the shaft, 13 unfavorable bearing interspace geometry, especially lubrication grooves distributed around the perimeter, 4,5 excessive bearing clearance and other bushing shape errors due to assembly by means of a thermo compression method (bush is cooled before installation, for most of the polymers thermal expansion coefficient is high, so it helps to shrink bush and install it easy in housing), improper sliding couple or hard operation conditions, 6,7 improper lubrication, not sufficient flow of the medium causing overheating of the sliding couple, 8 solid particles in the lubricating liquid, 9,10 corrosion, 11 etc. …”

“…Waterlubricated bearings have good wear resistance, stable chemical property, and environment friendliness which are being used in vessel propulsion system, hydropower, water pumps, and other industrial sectors. Water-lubricated rubber bearings are used to support the propeller shaft, and researches show that propulsion rotor system is the most important factor of vessel noise [1,2]. Dynamic characteristics of waterlubricated rubber bearings affect the dynamic behavior of propeller rotor system, which directly determine operation state and quality of propulsion system [3,4].…”

“…The low cost, environmental friendliness, and the excellent cooling effect of water have attracted many researchers to investigate the tribological performance of different materials under water lubrication [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]. Lei et al evaluated the tribological behavior of micro and nano-crystalline diamond films in water lubricating conditions [5].…”

Dong et al studied the stick-slip behaviors of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, synthetic rubber and fiber resin composite polymer materials with ZCuSn 10 Zn 2 plates under water-lubricated conditions [7]. Ma et al studied the friction between a 440C stainless steel ball and a 440C stainless steel plate in water lubrication [8].…”
