Abstract:An inert-gas plasma with molecular transitions 1;3 Σ u − 1 Σ g is one of the main active media for generating stimulated vacuum UV radiation. Experiments with heavy inert gases pumped with a pulsed electron beam, carried out in the early 1970s, proved that such generation is possible in principle. It was also established that lasing cannot be obtained in the continuous regime because of the large width of the spectrum to be amplified. This publication proposes an efficient mechanism for generating stimulated v… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
