Stoichiometric characteristics in Zanthoxylum planispinum var. dintanensis plantation of different ages

Abstract: The stoichiometry characteristics of Zanthoxylum planispinum var. dintanensis in different plantation ages (5, 10, 20, and 30 yr) in the canyon area of Guizhou Karst Plateau were studied by measuring the C, N, and P content of leaves, litter, and soil. The content of C, N, and P in leaves were 339.17−386.14, 20.95−23.65, and 1.18−1.72 g kg −1 , respectively. Carbon and P increased gradually with the plant age, but N did not change significantly. The growth of leaves changed from P restricted to N restricted. … Show more

“…Research on forest age and traits has mainly focused on soil traits (X. Wu, Xu, et al., 2020; Y. Guo et al., 2021), functional traits (Zeng et al., 2020), and stoichiometry (Yu et al., 2020). Limited studies have been devoted to quality traits, particularly biochemical traits.…”

“…Biomass dynamics with succession in the tropical broadleaf evergreen forests was studied byZeng et al (2020) and the results indicated that succession increases C sequestration which reduced atmospheric CO 2 and that increasing soil organic C in sandy soils makes them more productive Guo et al (2020). tested three different kinds of soft rock/sand ratios on crops and found a 1:2 ratio suitable for increasing crop yield in Mu Us, China Yu, Zheng et al (2020). studied the stoichiometric characteristics of C, N, and P for the plantation of different ages of Zanthoxylum planispinum var.…”
