Stop Plan of Express and Local Train for Regional Rail Transit Line

Abstract: The urban rail transit line operating in the express and local train mode can solve the problem of disequilibrium passenger flow and space and meet the rapid arrival demand of long-distance passengers. In this paper, the Logit model is used to analyze the behavior of passengers choosing trains by considering the sensitivity of travel time and travel distance. Then, based on the composition of passenger travel time, an integer programming model for train stop scheme, aimed at minimizing the total passenger trav… Show more

“…Since distributions by O-D pairs do not appear as the same type, a stochastic approach is required to calculate the respective travel times of the local train passengers and the express train passengers for the O-D pair. Previous studies analyzed the skip-stop strategy with the deterministic assumptions [13][14][15]. For example, the travel times of one station is fixed to three minutes.…”

“…The rapid expansion of cites also tends to cause transportation networks to be spread around large areas, within which the long-distance regional rail network is formed [17]. Travel mode selection is based on high reliability, shorter travel time, higher operational efficiency, and the need for fewer transfers [18]. Cities are expanding rapidly, and noncapital functions tend to move to the suburbs, thereby causing an increase in the numbers of passengers [18].…”

Cities are expanding rapidly, and noncapital functions tend to move to the suburbs, thereby causing an increase in the numbers of passengers [18]. Many studies have been done for the railway which consider different parameters as per the study outcome, such as [19] shortest travel time and passenger satisfaction [20,21].…”
