“…Toshiba Corporation has developed high energy-density HTS-low temperature superconducting (LTS) 'hybrid' SMES system and the HTS coil is DP winding type with Bi-2212 Rutherford cable operating at 4.2 K [11]. The operating current of the Bi-2212 DP coil is 2068 A. Hongwei Liu from Key Laboratory of HV and EMC Beijing designed the toroidal HTS-SMES based on stacked-tape cables [13].
