Abstract: Excitons are the lowest excited state of the electronic subsystem in semiconductors, composed of a bound electron−hole pair interacting via screened coulomb potential. Compared to the band-to-band transitions, excitons exhibit stronger luminescence with greater oscillator strength at low temperatures.
