Abstract:A two-phase numerical investigation on trench-shaped injection holes for film cooling is being conducted using Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes simulations to assess their practical effectiveness. The study is focusing on the cooling performance of a novel type of film holes, known as straight transverse trenches attached to a flat plate, using a mixture of water mist and air in the coolant fluid.
