Strategies for reducing energy consumption in public buildings: the Garzota Research Case

Abstract: In this paper, the energy modeling of the utility building Garzota in Guayaquil, Ecuador, was performed using OpenStudio tools and the EnergyPlus calculation engine. We applied the methodology defined by ASHRAE to create and validate the reference model. Then, three strategies were proposed to increase building energy efficiency.
