Strength Assessment of an Improved Design of a Tank Container under Operating Conditions

Abstract: The publication presents the results of research into the strength of an improved tank container. The tare of a tank container can be reduced through application of composite material for the tank. In this case its mass can be 46% lower than that of a metal tank. The strength of the tank was calculated by computer simulation. The maximum stress occurs in its lower part and is about 295 MPa. The dynamic loading of a tank can be reduced by application of elastic elements in the fittings of a tank container. The … Show more

“…The verification was carried out by comparing two samplings (Table 2) obtained analytically and with computer modelling. The area of the pad was determined using the spatial model of the pad created in SolidWorks [18][19][20][21][22]. In this case, the nominal parameters of the 2TR-11 brake pad were taken into account, i.e.…”

“…The solution of the system of differential equations of motion ( 4) was carried out using the Mathcad software package (USA) [24,25]. The vector of initial conditions has the following form: the initial movement of the supporting structure with the load is 0.004 m, the speed is 0; for bogies, respectively, 0.003 m and 0 [26].…”

“…At the same time, the lateral beams of the lower part of the frame experience maximum displacement. At the next stage of the research, a spatial model of the container frame was built (Figure 13) and its FEM analysis was carried out in SolidWorks Simulation [21][22].…”
