Strength indices of sand reinforced by foamed bitumen

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to determine the dependence of the parameters, the strength of sand reinforced by foamed bitumen on the content of organic binder. Tests were carried out by uniaxial compression using a measuring and computing complex. As a result, the ultimate compressive strength and the parameters of shear resistance are determined. To determine the angle of internal friction by uniaxial compression, a new technique is proposed, based on measuring the angle of inclination of the shear area to the main axes. According to the experimental work, mathematical models of the dependence of strength indicators from the content of organic binder in the Irtysh sand have been developed.
