Abstract:In this paper, we estimated the temperature-dependent critical inclusion size for microcracking under residual stress and applied stress for particulate-reinforced ultra-high-temperature ceramic matrix composites. The critical flaw size and applied stress for the stable growth of radial cracks under different temperatures were also estimated. It was found that under a lower applied stress, the critical inclusion size was sensitive to the temperature. Under higher applied stresses, the sensitivity became smalle… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
