Stroke induced by splenectomy in hemoglobin Madrid: autopsy clues to the underlying mechanism

Abstract: Thrombo-embolic events, which can be increased after splenectomy in hemoglobin disorders, can cause potentially lethal complications. Although venous thrombosis has been reported, arterial strokes are rarely reported.
