Structural and magnetic properties of manganese zinc ferrite nanoparticles prepared by solution combustion method using mixture of fuels

Abstract: The structural analysis and magnetic investigation Mn 1 À x Zn x Fe 2 O 4 with stoichiometry (x ¼ 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9 and 1.0) were synthesized by solution combustion method using mixture of fuel this is first of its kind. As synthesized Mn-Zn nanoferrites were characterized by X-ray Diffractometer (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) at room temperature. The magnetic domain relaxation was investigated by inductance spectroscopy (IS) and the observed magnetic domain relaxation frequency (f r ) … Show more

“…According to the Stoner-Wohlfarth model [53], M r /M s for an assembly of non-interacting 3D random particles is given by M r /M s ¼0.5 for uniaxial anisotropy and M r /M s ¼0.832 for cubic anisotropy. In the present study we obtained high M s compared to the earlier reports [13] as the magnetic properties depend on the method of preparation, microstructure and density [54].…”

“…The fuel chosen has a very important effect on ferrite prepared. The fuel in this process is either urea or glycine [37,38] or their mixture [39]. By balancing the oxidising (O) and reducing valency (F) of the reactants, the Stoichiometry ɸe = (O/F) is maintained at unity.…”

“…3 Previous studies pointed out that the surface, size, crystallinity, morphology, and composition strongly correlate with the physicochemical properties of spinel ferrite materials. [9][10][11][12][13] Moreover, these properties are inuenced by some advanced parameters such as dimension, dispersion, and surface area which can be changed by combining with various nanomaterials. [13][14][15][16][17] For the aim of enhancing the inherent characteristics, many spinel ferrite-based nanocomposites have been fabricated for boosting their diversity applicability from environmental, biomedical, and sensors to biotechnology applications.…”
