Structural and photoluminescent features of Eu3+ activated single‐phase niobate phosphor for lighting applications

Abstract: Single‐phase barium sodium niobate phosphor (Ba2NaNb5O15: BNNO) doped with europium (Eu3+) ions have been synthesized by solid‐state reaction route. Pure and single‐phase formation with the tetragonal structure of the synthesized Eu3+‐doped BNNO (BNNO: Eu3+) phosphor was confirmed by X‐ray diffraction. The SEM image of BNNO sample indicates irregular morphology and nonuniform micron‐sized particle formation.
