“…It is clear that most of the particles are rod-like. The similar SEM images were also observed by Utchariyajit [35] and Rakoczy [3] who synthesized AlPO-5 using microwave radiation and traditional hydrothermal method, respectively. The agglomerates or crystalline impurities presented in the previous paper [2] generally arose from water content, the molar ratio of Al to Ce in the reaction system, or the crystallization time in the Teflon-lined autoclaves, and are hardly seen in the present picture Fig.…”

“…Owing to the benefits from the combination of mesoporous molecular sieves and zeolites [1][2][3], mesoporous zeotype, AlPO 4 -5, has recently been studied and synthesized [2,4]. The AlPO 4 -5 zeotype with an AFI-type molecular sieve, having unidimensional 12-membered rings of straight channels, exhibits excellent thermal stability and is widely used in catalysis, separation [5], membranes, sensors, and nonlinear optics [6].…”

“…Egeblad et al [2] prepared mesoporous AlPO 4 -5 with an AFI type by introducing a carbon particle template via fluoride route under conventional heating for 3 days. However, we have successfully synthesized mesoporous AlPO 4 -5 (AFI) zeotype within only 2 h using an alumatrane precursor containing a bulky group of trialkanoamine ligand, via a simpler route of microwaving [4]. As discussed by many researchers, the synthesis of AlPOs, zeolites, and other porous materials under microwave heating has overcome many of the drawbacks found in using conventional heating; for example, the ability to obtain fast crystallization [7][8][9][10], high phase purity [11,12], high phase selectivity [13][14][15], and narrow particle size distribution [16].…”

“…Finally, AlPO-5 macrospheres with micrometer-sized voids and cavities were obtained after removal of the resin [26]. Utchariyajit and Wongkasemjit prepared mesoporous AlPO-5 with the pore size distribution (PSD) of 10-100 nm using alumatrane as precursor under microwave radiation [27]. Christensen and coworkers reported the synthesis of mesoporous AlPO-5 and AlPO-34 using carbon as template via fluoride route [28].…”
