Abstract: Carcinoembryonic antigen‐related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1) is a membrane protein that plays an important role in a variety of immune and non‐immune functions. Such functions are regulated by its activity as a homophilic ligand but also through its ability to interact as a heterophilic ligand with various host proteins.
