Abstract: Cholesterol-dependent cytolysins (CDCs), a family of β-barrel pore-forming toxins produced by various pathogens create pores on membranes of mammalian cells. Inhibition of pore formation by these toxins is considered as an effective prevention method of bacterial infection.
