“…The experimental values of transitions, i.e., the band position and intensity of OA bands, have been found to be in reasonable agreement with the theoretically calculated ones [18,34]. The splitting of the low frequency band is more discreet in the OA (and reflectance) spectra of the complexes in the solid state (see for example [29] and refs. [9][10][11] cited therein).…”

“…Generally, the OA bands of neutral Au 1,2-DTs occur at lower frequencies, even, than those of monoanionic salts of Ni, Pd and Pt, which are isoelectronic (see Figures 17 and 18 for examples) [63,70]. The OA and reflectance bands of single crystals of [Au(bdt) 2 ] occur close to 2000 nm [29]. [63,70].…”

“…. [25] The latter system was most accurately described in a strong coupling limit (Hubbard U » 4t) where the activated part of the magnetic susceptibility was attributed to an antiferromagnetically coupled Bonner±Fischer chain affected by dimerizing. [25] The similarities of electronic behaviors in both complexes clearly indicate that the strong coupling limit most probably also applies for 5, as discussed below in section 2.3.…”

“…In contrast to neutral bis(dithiolato)nickel complexes, neutral bis(dithiolato)gold complexes have one unpaired electron per complex, which means they may exhibit attractive electromagnetic properties. [2,[8][9][10] ESR spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements, for instance, have revealed that [Au(tmdt) 2 ] undergoes an antiferromagnetic (AF) phase transition at around 110 K, [11,12] and a 1 H NMR study has shown a steep increase in the NMR linewidth and a peak due to 1/T 1 at around 110 K. [13] These observations provide microscopic evidence for a magnetic phase transition. The observed variation of 1/T 1 indicates a highly correlated nature of the metallic phase.…”
