Structural equation modeling and confirmatory factor analysis of social media use and education

Abstract: The objective of this study is to design a structural equation model and test confirmatory factor analysis system in order to better explain how students could utilize social networking system (Facebook) for educational purposes. Thus, this paper seeks to examine the attitude, perception and behaviour of Japanese students' towards social-networking sites, and how students from non-English speaking backgrounds (especially Japanese students) at the University of Toyama perceive the use of Facebook for learning E… Show more

“…The TAM is the most widely employed and best known model to measure acceptance of various technologies (Estriegana, Medina-Merodio, & Barchino, 2019). It was successfully applied to a multitude of technologies such as social media (Abrahim, Mir, Suhara, Mohamed, & Sato, 2019;Dumpit & Fernandez, 2017), virtual learning environments (Kurt & Tingöy, 2017), mobile and digital libraries (Hamaad Rafique, Shamim, & Anwar, 2019), learning analytics visualization (Papamitsiou & Economides, 2015), and gamification (Rahman, Ahmad, & Hashim, 2018) and across many cultures (Cheung & Vogel, 2013;H. Rafique et al, 2018).…”

“…This research designing process led to the following four objectives for each study, as can be seen in Table 1. Considering that this type of approach was not found in other papers (putting in the same model the results of two separate studies on neuromarketing use in social media), we started our research design from one of our 2019 working papers [61], in which the authors were testing a model for social media use and education, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) developed by Davis [62]. TAM was one of the most popular prediction-oriented research models dedicated to predicting the primary motivational factors for the use and acceptance of new technologies and systems [58], thus we were able to adapt it to our research envision and build on the purpose/benefit parallel analysis.…”

“…is paper selects teachers, cases, and students that are closely related to the effect of classroom case teaching, uses structural equation modeling to evaluate the effect of case teaching, and discusses the direct and indirect effects of the three factors on the effect of case teaching [4]. Based on this, this article starts with the three factors influencing the effect of case teaching and proposes suggestions for improving the quality of case teaching and improving the effect of case teaching.…”
