Abstract:Carbon nanotube-reinforced aluminium normally considered to be composed of Carbon nanotube (CNT) free grain interior (GI) and CNT containing grain boundary affected zone (GBAZ). Research works showed that the property of GI varies with the distance from the boundary. To better understand the influence of this mechanical heterogeneity, we introduced a transition zone (TZ) to emphasise the mechanical heterogeneity of the GI. A dislocation-based plastic strain constitutive model was used to analyse the mechanical… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
