“…The acid was prepared by treating an aqueous solution of potassium tungstate with an ion exchange resin in the strong-acid form. The most generally utilized approach for preparing the peroxytungstate precursor involves dissolving W metal in concentrated H 2 O 2 solution [251,252]. The excess peroxide is decomposed with a Pt black catalyst.…”

“…The solution chemistry is complex and is further complicated by chemical stability of the oligomeric peroxo species formed in the initial reaction. Attempts have been made to identify the key precursor species, including polytungstate and peroxytungstate ions [251][252][253].…”

“…(a) shows the FTIR spectra of film deposited with Pd doped peroxotungstic acid sol. The band at 630cm -1 artribute to the W-O-W bridging mode of corner-sharing species 5,8,9 .The intensity of the mode at 630 cm -1 increases under repetitive cycle which indicated that the number of corner-sharing groups increases during cycles. The intensity of mode at 3220cm -1 which artribute to -OH(hydroxyl) 8,10,11 increases during repeatable cycle, the W-OH mode around 1428cm -1 remains nearly the same. This suggests that the coner-sharing WO 3 units and hydrogen bonds were formed during the repeatable cycles, these structure changes may probably decrease the bleaching velocity.…”
