Magnetic properties D 9000Structure and Physical Properties of Ternary Antimonide YbCrSb 3 . -The title compound is prepared by arc melting of the elements and single crystals are grown in a Sn flux (evacuated silica tube, 1000°C, 10 h). YbCrSb3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbcm (Z = 4) and is isostructural with LaCrSb3 and CeCrSb3. Electrical resistivity measurements on single crystals and magnetic susceptibility measurements on powders reveal a magnetic ordering transition at T C ≅ 280 K.The isothermal magnetization at 100 K indicates an approach to saturation, but with low values (0.08 µB/mol at 9 T). These results suggest a ferromagnetic or canted antiferromagnetic structure. -(CRERAR, S. J.; DEAKIN, L.; MAR*, A.; Chem. Mater. 17 (2005) 10, 2780-2784; Dep. Chem., Univ.
