Structure and Properties of Some Metallic Biomaterials from System Ti-Nb-Fe Used in Implantology

Abstract

In this study special biomaterials from Ti-Nb-Fe system are obtained under two conditions of cooling from the liquid state. As a result of structural investigations, the constitution is biphasic a+ b with a proportion of b phase increasing with cooling rate. Also, the corrosion tests demonstrate that obtained alloy by fast cooling rate had a better corrosion resistance.
