Structure and stability of alkali gallates structurally reminiscent of hollandite

Abstract: Single crystals of CsGa7O11, RbGa7O11, and RbGa4In5O14 were grown from alkali halide melts and their structures were characterized by single crystal and powder X‐ray diffraction. CsGa7O11 and RbGa7O11 adopt the same structure type, reminiscent of the hollandite structure type, as it contains nearly rectangular channels made up of two dimers of edge‐sharing GaO6 octahedra, and two corner‐sharing octahedron/tetrahedron pairs. The structure of RbGa4In5O14 is more complex and is comprised of indium octahedra, gall… Show more

“…A set of Non-Rad simulant TCCR samples from Crystalline Silicotitanate columns (CST), containing less than 5 ppm Na were analyzed at a 200x and 100x dilution utilizing the described method [4] . In addition, Table 3 shows a set of 16 samples from a CsGa7O11 leaching study that were analyzed for total Cs and compared to ICP-MS [5] . A set of various matrix SPK samples were also prepared and analyzed (Table 3) with a spike recovery within 10% of the expected value, further demonstrating method accuracy and precision.…”
