Abstract: During the accident at TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, radiocesium-bearing microparticles (CsMPs) were released from damaged reactors into the environment. These micron-sized spherical particles with high specific radioactivity have not been reported in previous nuclear accidents.
