With the rapid development of anesthesiology, anesthesiologists have accumulated rich clinical experience in rescuing critically ill patients. Anesthesia intensive care unit (AICU) is a specific hospital area that is managed and organized by the anesthesiology and critical care service. AICU offers multidisciplinary care for critically ill patients in the perioperative period through a team of specialists, predominantly anesthesiologists. By the end of 2022, the surge of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases has overwhelmed the healthcare services in our country. Medical staff in the AICU leveraged their expertise to provide accurate monitoring and timely symptomatic treatment to ill patients with COVID-19 infection and promoted the rehabilitation of patients.
