Abstract

The author's repeated attempts to obtain continuing support for the rather successful RNA tumor virus research of his laboratory (Horst, Keith, and co-workers) failed, and this work was discontinued in 1976 for lack of funds; this may just be one more illustration of the fallibility of the peer review system.
